Take 2 tylenol pm. a couple of hours before bedtime. Anxiety attacks are scary.but they are quite easy to cure, once you know what is happening. You get scared for no reason. your heart beats faster, you think you are having a heart attack. you think you are dying.you feel like you can’t breathe. the fact is, you are actually getting too much oxygen to your brain that is why you get lightheaded. you are hyper-ventilating ok , when you feel an attack coming on, just remember, you are not dying. you are just getting too much oxygen to your brain.breathing into a paper bag can help since you are just breathing the same oxygen.if you just calm yourself down and tell your self that you are fine.you are not dying. soon you will find the attacks come less and less often and soon you will not have them at all.
It’s important to talk to your doctor about this. Don’t feel uncomfortable because millions of Americans have the same problem!! Your doctor will know what to do and will not make you feel bad…its not your fault!!
Good luck!
All you need to do is two things. First, don’t worry if you don’t sleep. Lay down and try to and if you don’t sleep but still get your rest you may find you will not be tired the next day. The second thing is to be more active. Sometimes if you are not getting enough activity then you won’t need the sleep and this could be the problem. Try to take some extended walks with a dog or do some other activity. It doesn’t have to be working out. It could be just walking around in a mall for a while.
After doing that try not to worry when you are going to sleep. Read a book or watch tv in bed and it should help you fall asleep.
Hi,
I had the same problem of sleep disorder during my college days. Those days were stressful, studies and then uncertainty about the future. I would suggest try to relax, read a book and try to divert your mind from things that might be troubling you.
My favorite sleeping tactic was take a book and read it before going to bed. I am not talking about interesting murder mysteries but what I felt as boring history books. I slept like a baby after implementing some of these following tips:http://www.knowabouthealth.com/10-key-sl…http://www.knowabouthealth.com/cold-room…
Hey, I truly understand how you feel…
The uncomfortable symptoms like sweaty palms, “jelly” legs, extreme alertness, “impending doom” feeling and the fight-or-flight response.
I’ve been there. I’m an ex-victim. Sometimes the deep breathing or distraction techniques doesn’t work - a full-blown panic or anxiety attack happens later.
Sometimes you experience panic attack out of the blue and such.
Do NOT buy Panic Away, Linden Method, EasyCalm or the Panic Puzzle. They do NOT work - I’ve tried them and their solutions are similar - it DOESN’T WORK.
Medications do NOT work - I was under many antidepressants (Prozac, Lexapro, Paxil and Zoloft) and anti-anxiety medications (Ativan, Klonopin, and Xanax) but my condition was the same - no improvement at all.
The only program that really work is The Panic Attack Solution. It’s found by an ex-victim. You can check out his old blog in his official website to read up some useful tips.
But the package is the best - it teaches 18 powerful techniques and the real solution to panic attacks. I’ve bought it and it really helped me - it’s the BEST anti-anxiety package or book I’ve read.
His theory really makes sense.
You will learn why your panic attacks can happen without warning sometimes; why having stimulant causes panic attacks; and many-many other useful tips like how to sleep despite anxiety or panic attack!

First of all you need to talk with someone with the fact that if it has to do with a psychological event, or a traumatic event within your life, there is a psychological/trauma/emotional cycle, that can sometimes not be very easy to break. If you’re uncomfortable talking with your family about your problems, then seek the assistance from either a social worker, psychologist, counsellor, or psychiatrist. I know that this probably won’t fit your needs, but there is also crisis centers that you can talk to with, since I am not sure of the area that you live, I will give you a website that will have lots of different numbers. http://www.suicidehotlines.com
I think I’m going through the same thing. Is it like every little creak in the house wakes you up, and you think somebodies in the house? And it only happens to me at night when nobody else is awake. And you lie there scared to turn around and everything, its horrible.
